This 6.5-hour Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) course focuses on recognizing the patterns of thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and appearance that show there might be a problem rather than focusing on specific illness. Participants are taught the Mental Health First Aid Action Plan (ALGEE) that they can apply to non-crisis and crisis scenarios.

The goal of this activity is to ensure the interdisciplinary team in the NICU is fully prepared to respond effectively to emergencies, including code events and man-made or natural disasters.
