Children's National's Joint Accreditation (JA) Team of the Interprofessional Learning Leadership Council obtained the designation of Joint Accreditation starting in 2024 and helps to provide opportunities for clinicians to earn Continuing Education (CE) credits. These activities will provide health care professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to enhance their practice of medicine and improve health care outcomes through a continuing learning process. This team manages continuing education programs across multiple professions in the hospital: Nursing, Medicine, Pharmacy, Psychology, and Social Work. We recognize that we have many more professions within the hospital that require continuing education for their licensure. Currently JA only collaborates with a limited number of professional accreditation organizations. However, as we evolve this platform, we hope to include information on CE for all our professional colleagues. The JA Team is composed of the co-leads, a continuing education manager, instructional designers, nurses, physicians, advance practice providers, pharmacists, psychologists, and social workers. The members come from a variety of divisions and departments across the hospital. Katherine DuBois, MSN, RN-BC and Pavan Zaveri, MD, MEd, CHSE-A are the team leads and are primarily responsible for ensuring adherence to the Joint Accreditation criteria. All team members partner across the organization to facilitate planning of continuing education (CE) activities.
