Pediatric Cardiology Symposium for the Pediatrician
Program Description
The goal of this symposium is to educate community pediatricians in the Richmond and Fredericksburg area on common pediatric cardiology conditions. They will gain practical insights on commonly seen pediatric cardiology conditions through focused lectures, interactive discussions and opportunities to connect with fellow pediatricians. Learn from top Children’s National cardiologists as they share evidence-based guidance and address frequently asked questions.

Learning Objectives
- Compare strategies for transitioning adolescents with congenital heart disease from pediatric to adult congenital heart care to support continuity of care and reduce gaps in follow-up.
- Analyze abnormal ECG findings, family history, and sports physical screening results to identify pediatric patients who require cardiology referral or further cardiovascular evaluation.
- Assess neurodevelopmental and long-term health considerations in children with congenital heart disease to improve multidisciplinary care coordination and patient outcomes.
- Apply evidence-based approaches to the evaluation and management of pediatric patients with congenital heart disease, connective tissue disorders, and cardiovascular risk factors across the continuum of care.
