Improving Palliative and End-of-Life Care: Interprofessional Perspectives

This Conway Leadership Seminar will be a dynamic event uniting a diverse group of educators, practitioners, researchers, and learners to engage in dialogue about the nature and necessity of interprofessional collaborative practice in palliative and end-of-life care for older adults and their family systems. The program is an opportunity to support and empower students and leaders who strive to foster a healthcare culture that promotes human dignity, flourishing, and freedom.

Learning Objectives

Learning Objective 1: 

Explain interprofessional collaboration and team coordination in palliative and end-of-life care.

Learning Objective 2: 

Identify ethical strategies to uphold the dignity, privacy, identity, and autonomy of persons in the delivery of palliative and end-of-life care, using a team-based, family-centered care approach.

Learning Objective 3: 

Develop culturally and developmentally appropriate communication and negotiation skills for safe and effective patient outcomes.

Learning Objective 4: 

Appreciate the expertise of diverse professionals and their impact on team functions and health outcomes.
