Flight Ground School September 2025
New DOTM staff will be competent to care for critical care patients spanning multiple ages, and developmental stages. Staff will correctly assess, plan care and implement care of these patients in the transport setting, to include stabilization and safe transport of the patient to the receiving facility. They will return proper demonstration of skills learned through learning activities and chart reviews

Learning Objectives
1. Participants will learn the proper use of equipment including helmets, isolette, stretcher. The will practice with this equipment in the helicopter to include loading, unloading, and securing devices for team and patient safety. Participants will be able to apply these skills while caring for a patient in thehelicopter transport setting safely
2. Participants will learn safe communication while working with the team in the helicopter to include standard "hot" and "cold" operations, and emergency procedures. Participants will be able to verbalize and demonstrate these procedures in the helicopter transport setting safely.
3. Participants will learn standards of planning with the communication centers, to include paging, crew resource management, crew confirgurations, patients and equipment considerations. Participants will plan, communicate, and safely deliver patient care in the helicopter transport setting.
