Advocacy Training - American Psychological Association
Overview
Staff from the American Psychological Association (APA) will provide CNH psychology faculty and psychology trainees with strategies to advocate at the federal level within the profession.
Target Audience
- Psychologists
- Psychology trainees (e.g., interns and fellows)
Learning Objectives
- Describe at least 2 best practices in communicating persuasively with policymakers and applying the basics of story-telling in an advocacy context.
- Describe at least 2 best practices when participating in meetings with policymakers and / or their staff.
- Identify and be able to explain 2 federal policy issues relevant to psychological services offered by CNH.

Credit Designation
Psychologists: Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs. All confirmed participants will earn 2.75 CE credits (Instructional Level, Intermediate Learning) upon successful completion of the learning event and evaluation.
