Learning Objectives
After this session, learners will be able to:
1. Describe how graded prematurity alters cerebellar growth and maturation, based on imaging and neuropathologic data.
2. Differentiate cerebellar and pontine injury patterns associated with necrotizing enterocolitis from those seen in uncomplicated prematurity.
3. Explain proposed temporal models linking NEC (antecedent vulnerability vs event-linked injury) to cerebellar and brainstem involvement.
