Overview
This educational program aims to enhance nursing staff’s knowledge, skills, and cultural sensitivity in caring for LGBTQ+ youth. Through a two-hour interactive session, participants explore real-life scenarios, youth perspectives, and practical strategies to provide inclusive, affirming care.

- Integrate nursing staff sensitivity in the DC public school system for the healthcare delivery of youth who identify as LGBTQ+
- Explain terms related to gender identification and sexual orientation.
- Discuss culturally congruent care.
- Apply appropriate language when communicating with LGBTQ+ patients and their families.
- Apply four shared meanings related to culturally congruent care of the individuals who identify as LGBTQ+ at CSS.
