APP BearPairs Mentor Orientation
The goal of the APP mentor orientation is to provide future mentors with the necessary tools, knowledge, and resources to effectively support their mentees. This includes: 1. Understanding Roles: Clarifying the expectations and responsibilities of both mentors and mentees. 2. Building Skills: Teaching effective communication, active listening, and feedback techniques. 3. Establishing Goals: Helping mentors set clear, achievable objectives for their relationship and guiding mentee in professional goal development. 4. Fostering Relationships: Encouraging rapport-building strategies to enhance the mentoring connection. 5. Providing Resources: Sharing materials, guides, and frameworks that can aid in the mentoring process. Overall, the orientation aims to empower mentors to be effective guides and supporters for their mentees’ personal and professional growth as they enter the APP role or are a new APP at Children's National Hospital.
