Stress First Aid for Social Work Team Leads
Program Description:
To offer seven practical actions to identify and address stress reactions in oneself or others (specifically supervisees), not just after major incidents but on an ongoing basis with focus on the work done in the healthcare setting. Stress First Aid is: • A flexible guide for quickly dealing with stress from personal or work sources • A method to support well-being, prevent harm, and encourage recovery • An easy-to-use tool for self-care or coworker support SFA involves simple, supportive steps that can be integrated effortlessly into daily routines and make a significant impact on recovery from stress. These actions also promote compassionate care and may connect individuals to additional help when needed.

Learning Objectives
- Describe the basic foundation of Stress First Aid (SFA).
- Differentiate between stress reactions and stress injuries.
- Recognize Orange Zone Indicators.
- Describe different types of situations in which it would be appropriate to use each SFA action (Check, Coordinate, Cover, Calm, Connect, Competence and Confidence). Apply the SFA skill sets to discussions and scenarios of individuals in crisis
