Hair for You: Enhancing Nursing Practice Through Comprehensive Hair and Scalp Care

Hair For You is a nurse-led initiative developed at Children’s National Hospital to close a critical gap in clinical care: the lack of standardized, inclusive scalp and hair assessment and care practices. Through national competencies, evidence-informed education and practical implementation tools, Hair For You empowers clinical teams to deliver personalized scalp and hair care to all patients.

This e‑learning course equips healthcare professionals with essential skills for inclusive hair care and scalp assessment in hospitalized children and adolescents. Grounded in health equity and evidence‑based practice, learners gain practical tools to deliver respectful, culturally congruent care that supports patient dignity, experience, and outcomes.

Continuing education (CE) credit is available through July 31, 2029.
