Goldberg Lean Transformation Project
The goal of this activity is to enhance the quality, safety, and efficiency of patient care by engaging healthcare team members in Lean transformation principles and practices. Through structured learning and discussion, participants will gain skills to identify waste, improve workflows, and foster a culture of continuous improvement within our health center. The activity aims to empower participants to apply Lean tools in their daily work, leading to measurable improvements in patient outcomes and team performance.

Learning Objectives
- Analyze existing clinical or operational workflows to identify sources of waste, variation, and inefficiency using Lean tools such as value stream mapping or root cause analysis.
- Apply Lean improvement strategies—such as Kaizen events or rapid-cycle PDSA testing—to create, implement, and assess measurable changes that enhance quality, safety, and efficiency in patient care.

Psychology: Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs. All confirmed participants will earn 1.0 CE credits (Instructional Level, Intermediate Learning) upon successful completion of the learning event and evaluation.
Social Work: As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Children’s National Hospital is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 1.0 general continuing education credits.
