LAURA HENDRICKS, DNP, CPHQ, NEA-BC
Dr. Laura Hendricks has over twenty-five years of health care knowledge and experience
in an array of areas to include the acute care setting, academic setting and the community/public health setting. Early on in her career she served as the Program Director and then progressed to the Deputy Director of a community medical/ day habilitative center that served vulnerable populations.
Having left the community setting and before joining Sibley Memorial Hospital/ Johns Hopkins Health System, where she is currently employed, Dr. Hendricks spent over a decade at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland and held numerous progressive nursing roles. She has spent over twenty years employed within the Johns Hopkins Health System inclusive of her current role as Vice President of Patient Care Services & Chief Nursing Officer.
Dr. Hendricks received her doctorate degree (Doctor of the Nursing Practice) with a concentration in Executive Leadership from Drexel University and she holds a Master’s Degree in Nursing Education. Her DNP project and associated publication is titled
“Evaluating the effects of psycho-oncological education on psychological distress and quality of life in solid tumor cancer patients who have received and completed chemotherapy with curative intent.” Dr. Hendricks is a Carol Emmott Fellow and is a graduate of the Baldrige Executive Fellowship Program. In 2023 Dr. Hendricks received a post graduate certificate from Harvard Medical School with a focus on Safety, Quality, Leadership & Informatics in the health care arena.
