Professor at the Conway School of Nursing, The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.  She is originally from Boston, Massachusetts.  Dr Connor Ballard holds a BSN from St. Anselm College in New Hampshire, and obtained both her MSN and PhD Nursing from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia.  She holds membership in Sigma Theta Tau (International Honor Society for Nursing) and the American Association for History in Nursing (AAHN). She served as a Commander in the Nurse Corps of the US Navy for over 30 years, and currently continues to serve on the Editorial Board of the American Journal of Nursing (AJN).
