Jennifer Klein, MD MPH
Jennifer Klein is a pediatric and fetal cardiologist at Children's National Hospital. She earned her medical degree from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. She completed her pediatric residency, pediatric cardiology fellowship and advanced cardiac imaging fellowship at Children's National. She earned her master's in public health from George Washington University with a focus on maternal and child health.
As a clinician-scientist, Dr. Klein's research interests include maternal health and nutrition, addressing disparities in prenatal care for fetal cardiac disease, and social determinants in surgical outcomes for congenital heart disease. She was awarded a postdoctoral research training grant from the American Heart Association to study the geographic distribution of congenital heart disease. She is passionate about advancing the use of novel tools, such as geographic analysis, in the study of healthcare disparities. She is involved in several national organizations to promote diversity, equity and inclusion in pediatric cardiac healthcare.
