The purpose of this course is to prepare the participants for participation in global and “glocal” (global-local) health care experiences through examining global health issues including health care delivery, disease burden, and resource allocation; recognize, diagnose, and manage common illnesses and tropical diseases seen outside the United States; refine clinical judgment and diagnostic skills necessary in lower resource settings through case-based discussion and simulation; and discuss principles of bioethics.
