Jean Fletcher, MSN, PMHNP-BC, CPNP
Jean Fletcher is a Nurse Practitioner with over 30 years of experience in nursing. She graduated from Hampton University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and earned her Master of Science in Nursing from The Catholic University of America in 2003. In December 2024, she completed her Post Master’s Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program at George Washington University and is now dual certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health NP.
Jean served in the United States Army Nurse Corps, achieving the rank of Captain before her honorable discharge in 2002. She has spent 20 years as a certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Adolescent medicine at Children’s National and School-Based Health care in Prince George’s County and Washington, D.C., passionately providing care to underserved and vulnerable populations. Her new role is with the Division of Psychiatry at Children’s National, in the Addiction Clinic.
As an Adjunct professor at The Catholic University of America, Jean has taught courses in Primary Care of Adolescents and Adolescent practicum, maintaining strong relationships with her students. She is also a Conway Nursing Pathfinder Nurse Mentor at Children’s National and provides preceptorship for many Nurse Practitioner students.
Jean is an active member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP), participating in special interest groups focused on Adolescent health care and Developmental and Behavioral Mental Health. She has been married for over thirty years, and raised two children in Prince George's County, Maryland. An active member of Woodstream Church in Mitchellville, Maryland, Jean is a member of The Health and Wellness Ministry and co-facilitates Grief Share, a support group for grief and loss. Her motto is, “Your health is your wealth.”
