APP Orientation 2/26/25
The goal of this activity is to improve advanced practice provider knowledge, skills and performance of airway management, activation of escalation resources and reinforcement of clinical skills in order to support decompensating pediatric patients. For the leadership training portion, the goal is to improve interpersonal communication, time management and collaboration skills when working with patients, parents and team members in challenging clinical circumstances.

Learning Objectives
Learning Objective 1:
Demonstrate the ability to recognize the signs and symptoms of an acutely deteriorating or decompensating infant or child.
Learning Objective 2:
Demonstrate the ability to provide appropriate response and escalate care as the first responder for a decompensating patient & Provide leadership and effective communication for the management of a deteriorating patient
Learning Objective 3:
Identify resources available to the bedside team: code cart; staff; rapid response; and code blue teams.
Learning Objective 4:
Enhance ability to communicate effectively and empathetically in challenging situations with pediatric patients and their families, including delivering difficult news and managing challenging patients.
Demonstrate application of essential strategies for de-escalation, conflict resolution, and navigating difficult interactions with opposing team members to promote a collaborative team dynamic with excellent leadership skills
