This training will ensure all staff are proficient in trauma care, equipment use, and critical decision-making in both trauma and transport environments. Participants will gain skills for safe operations in critical care flight settings, effective communication, and patient triage. Additionally, staff will be trained to manage advanced or difficult airways, including alternatives to intubation, ensuring readiness for high-pressure situations.

Learning Objectives

Learning Objective 1: Interpret and apply flight policy in the air medical environment. Participants will be able to demonstrate daily flight procedures including brief, walk around, communication in and around the aircraft, and during inclement weather procedures, and debriefs.

Learning Objective 2: Apply knowledge of flight helmet care and use.  Participants will know working parts of the helmet, how to properly wear and secure the helmet, how to properly store, and maintain the helmets and return demonstration of these skills in aircraft setting

Learning Objective 3: Assess the helicopter environment for safety, including helipad, helicopter and apply techniques to working in environment.  Participants will demonstrate competency of equipment, communication devices, safety devices, and safe operations around "hot" moving rotors of the helicopter in the air medical environment.
