Hair for You: Enhancing Nursing Practice Through Comprehensive Hair and Scalp Care (e-learning module)
This course establishes a practice standard and competency framework for hair care and scalp assessment in hospitalized children and adolescents across all ethnicities and hair textures. Grounded in health equity and evidence-based practice, it addresses systemic gaps in knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors related to culturally congruent hair care. Participants will explore the historical and cultural significance of hair and learn practical strategies to deliver respectful, inclusive, and biologically appropriate care. Care team members will gain tools to improve patient experience, dignity, and clinical outcomes through comprehensive hair and scalp care practices.
