Renee Roberts Turner, DHA, MSN, RN, NE-BC, CPHQ
Reneè Roberts-Turner is a transformational nurse leader with over two decades of experience advancing nursing excellence, patient- and family-centered care, and interprofessional collaboration. As the Executive Director of Nursing Excellence, Child and Family Services, and Magnet® Program Director at Children’s National Hospital, she provides strategic oversight for the Department of Nursing Science, Professional Practice & Quality; the Department of Child Life & Integrative Care Services; and the Department of Family Services.
Dr. Roberts-Turner leads enterprise-level initiatives that strengthen clinical outcomes, foster professional development, and support a culture of innovation and accountability. Under her leadership, the hospital has sustained national recognition for nursing excellence and expanded integrative care programs that include child life, art, music, and pet therapy, social work, and chaplaincy.
She is the creator of the Diamond Model for Professional Excellence, a leadership and mentoring framework that supports nurse development, retention, and advancement. She is also the co-editor of the Pocket Guide to Quality Improvement in Healthcare, a widely used resource that equips healthcare professionals with practical tools to enhance safety, effectiveness, and performance improvement.
Dr. Roberts-Turner is a published author, national presenter, and an advocate for elevating the voice of nursing within systems of care.
