HCID Basics for PEM Fellows: Pathogens, PPE, and Pediatric Preparedness with Tress Goodwin:

  1. Recognize what High-Consequence Infectious Diseases (HCIDs) are and why they matter in emergency medicine
  2. Review the U.S. HCID response system and how patients are identified and managed
  3. Learn about the CHiRP Team and Children’s National’s role as a pediatric RESPTC
  4. Review basic principles of PPE use for HCID, including pediatric-specific considerations
