Simulation Addressing Verbal Escalation (SAVE) Training (2026)
Course Description
Workplace violence continues to rise. Threats of verbal and physical violence from patients, families and between staff create a workplace environment that is not psychologically safe and risks patient care outcomes. The Simulation Program has developed a one-hour in-person training focused on sepsis in a deteriorating patient and the verbally escalating parent. While several initiatives have been implemented to address escalating individuals, there are limited opportunities to practice. With increasing incidents, now is the time to practice and review best practices to ensure patient and staff safety. SAVE Training will address the medically and psychosocially escalating parent and patient in a one-hour training using SPs required for all acute care, critical care, emergency department, and other related clinical staff.
