SCU Skills Fair 2025
The goal of this activity is to enhance nursing staff competencies on the Surgical Care Unit (SCU) to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. The focus is on improving key areas, including safe medication administration, prevention of hospital-acquired conditions, strategies to prevent respiratory distress, and effective management of code blue situations. This training aims to equip the nursing team with the essential knowledge and skills needed to provide optimal care and ensure patient safety in critical situations.

Learning Objectives
Learning Objective 1:
SCU nurse will identify safe medication administration processes.
Learning Objective 2:
SCU nurse will demonstrate interventions and skills to prevent hospital acquired conditions.
Learning Objective 3:
SCU nurse will apply emergency management skills in a CODE Blue response.
Learning Objective 4:
SCU nurse will verbalize how to care for broken-down skin around ostomy site.
