Description

This education is needed based on changes and improvements in evidence-based practice related to the care and management of high-risk low volumes diagnosis and treatment of patients on the Neuroscience Care Unit. The desired outcomes include an increase in knowledge and understanding, and process improvement in patient care and safety.

1. Demonstrate care and management of enteral feedings.

2. Assess and manage a patient with a tracheostomy emergency.

3. Demonstrate appropriate management of a patient in a C-collar per NPG and standard of practice

4. Demonstrate appropriate use of neuro-intensive equipment and management of a patient with increased intracranial pressure (ICP).
