Fundamentals of Critical Care Support: In-Person Skills Day

May 13, 2026

Program Description:

Fundamental Critical Care Support: Pediatrics (FCCS: Pediatrics) aims to prepare clinicians to manage critically ill pediatric patients during the initial period of care and stabilization, with a focus on applied skills training and clinical decision-making through asynchronous learning and interactive virtual and in-person sessions. The FCCS: Pediatrics program is offered through the Society of Critical Care Medicine and hosted by the Children’s National Hospital Division of Critical Care Medicine. The two 1-hour interactive virtual skills sessions (Radiology and Invasive Devices Skills Session; Transport Medicine Skills Session) and full-day in-person skills training event, with hands-on skill stations and simulation-based scenarios, reinforce pediatric critical care concepts, procedural skills, and interdisciplinary communication. Note: Asynchronous learning online modules are offered separately from the skills sessions through the Society of Critical Care Medicine and provide their own continuing education credit.
