APP Executive Leadership Training
Overview
The goal of this activity is to improve advanced practice provider (APP) knowledge utilizing the Crucial Conversations framework as well as respective role playing and real-life scenarios to guide discussion and navigating difficult conversations with leaders, team members and patients and families. The approach would be to enhance APP performance and execution of leadership skills, strengthen interprofessional dynamics, promote cohesive team collaboration and optimize effective problem solving, communication and feedback methods in order to bridge the professional practice gaps and educational needs.

Learning Objectives
Learning Objective 1:
Discuss evidence-based communication strategies using the Crucial Conversations Framework to effectively engage in difficult conversations by fostering empathyand mutual respect when addressing performance feedback, interpersonal conflict, patient care
Learning Objective 2:
Identify and overcome psychological and organizational barriers, such as fear of conflict, retribution, assumptions and power dynamics that may prevent individuals from initiating or effectively participating in crucial conversations
Learning Objective 3:
Demonstrate effective use of emotional self-regulation, conflict resolution, and de-escalation strategies using the Crucial Conversations Framework to navigate challenging team interactions and promote a safe, collaborative, and high-functioning team
