4 Main Skills Fair 2026
Course Description
The goal of this activity is to strengthen clinical competence and interdisciplinary collaboration among RNs and PCTs in acute care settings, with a specific focus on skills commonly performed across multiple units. As floating assignments have increased, staff are expected to adapt quickly to different workflows and procedures. This skills fair is designed to reduce anxiety, reinforce essential skills, and promote safe, consistent care delivery regardless of unit assignment. The target audience needs to: Know: Key procedures and protocols from units they may float to, including variations in practice and documentation expectations. Do: Demonstrate proficiency in high-impact clinical skills such as central line access, enteral feeding, patient admission setup, and interdisciplinary communication. Improve: Confidence and adaptability when floating, as well as teamwork and role clarity in collaborative care scenarios. By addressing these needs, the activity supports safer patient care, reduces variability in practice, and fosters a more resilient and prepared workforce.
