Title: Standardizing the Inpatient Management of High-Utilization Patients with Functional and Psychological Needs
Objectives:
- Apply a standardized, multidisciplinary approach to the inpatient management of children with chronic or functional conditions requiring longitudinal care.
- Identify and mitigate biases that may be associated with high utilization patients or may contribute to overmedicalization, including patterns in decision-making around testing, treatment, and hospitalization.
- Establish a shared mental model among providers for planned admissions, prior authorizations, and care coordination to support high-value, goal-concordant care.
