Inpatient Management of Abnormal Uterine Bleeding
Narrative/Learning Objective:
•Review the differential diagnosis, evaluation and criteria for diagnostic work up of abnormal uterine bleeding, including admission criteria and when to consult Adolescent Medicine.
•Discuss the medical management for patients presenting with abnormal uterine bleeding including protocols (pathways/ordersets)
•Describe the discharge criteria for abnormal uterine bleeding, including payor issues and tips for documentation for reimbursement, and transition considerations for outpatient follow up.
•Review adolescent confidentiality laws pertaining to Reproductive Health and Documentation of PHI for Adolescents
