Explain the proposed mechanisms by which High-Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) therapy may alleviate respiratory distress.
Identify patients who are appropriate candidates for HFNC on the Pediatric Hospital Medicine (PHM) service.
Describe when to initiate, escalate, and wean HFNC therapy, and outline strategies for managing decompensation in patients receiving HFNC.
