Amy Hope Wolfe, MD, MEd

Amy Wolfe, MD, MEd. Is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at The George Washington University (GWU) School of Medicine and Health Sciences and an Attending Physician in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Children’s National Hospital (CNH). Dr. Wolfe completed medical school at Sydney Kimmel Medical College in 2013. She completed her Pediatric Residency at the University of North Carolina in 2016 and her Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship at Children’s National in 2019. Since joining the faculty in 2019, Dr. Wolfe has completed her master’s in education at George Washington University in 2021, with a focus in qualitative analysis. Dr. Wolfe’s research interests focus on novel methodologies to improve communication amongst and between physicians and families, specifically surrounding life-altering communication. She has performed simulation based studies measuring physician stress during critical communication encounters and hopes to quantify the impact of physician stress on communication effectiveness in the future.
