Series Description

The goal of this activity is to provide education on patient conditions commonly seen by palliative care physicians (such as brain tumors and leukodystrophies), as well as on therapies and interventions that carry high levels of risk (such as bone marrow transplants and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation). The members of the target audience - clinicians who routinely treat children with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions - need to understand the basic mechanisms of these conditions and treatments as well as updates to the literature and guidelines, so we can most effectively counsel families on decision-making and goals of care and provide them with support.
