Neena Jube-Desai, MD/MBA
Neena Jube-Desai, MD, MBA, attended Union College as part of a combined BS/MBA/MD Program with Albany Medical College, earning her a BS in Biology and Visual Arts in 2011, followed by her MBA and MD in 2012 and 2015, respectively. She completed her pediatric residency training at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in 2018 before completing a Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship at Children’s National Hospital in 2021.
Dr. Jube-Desai’s clinical and research foci are in optimizing the safety and quality of neonatal care. From 2021 to 2024, she served as a neonatologist and Director of Quality Improvement for the NICU at University of Maryland Medical Center. In this role, she led projects enhancing patient care and communication, focusing on consent compliance, unplanned extubation prevention, hand hygiene, safe sleep practices, neonatal resuscitations, and discharge/transfer efficiency from the NICU.
Dr. Jube-Desai is now an attending physician in the Children's National Division of Neonatology. She provides direct patient care at the Reston Hospital Center NICU in Reston, Virginia. Along with her passion in patient safety and quality improvement, she also maintains an active interest in simulation and the use of mobile technology for medical education.
Dr. Jube-Desai was awarded the WiNnovation Award in March 2021, which is presented to women neonatologists whose work has contributed towards progressing the role of women in neonatology in an exemplary manner. She was also named one of Baltimore Magazine’s “Top Doctors” in Neonatology in November 2023.
