Paige L. McDonald, EdD, MA, is Interim Chair and an Associate Professor with tenure in the Department of Clinical Research and Leadership at the George Washington University (GW) School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS). Prior to assuming the role of Interim Chair, Paige served Vice Chair for the department and the Director for Curriculum in the PhD in Translational Health Sciences. Within the PhD, she teaches courses in Translational Science in Complex Health Systems, Knowledge Translation in Complex Health systems, Translating Literature for Interdisciplinary Scholarship and, previously, Implementation Science.

Dr. McDonald has over a decade of experience in educational research focusing on adult learning, blended learning, online learning, and health professions education. This research emphasizes learning design and delivery that will prepare the future health professions workforce for the complexity of 21st century practice. She currently serves as the President of the Board for the Online Learning Consortium. More recent scholarly interests include learning health systems, knowledge translation, and quality improvement in healthcare with a desired outcome of understanding how to promote knowledge translation and learning for continuous improvement in health and healthcare. She serves as the Director of the GW Learning Health Systems Lab.
