Marcus Mason, Ed.D, LCPC, LPC, NCC
Dr. Marcus Mason, LCPC, LPC, NCC, is a Board-Certified Clinical Supervisor and the founder and CEO of Minds In Motion Therapeutic Services, LLC, a Maryland-based practice built on the belief that mental and physical health are deeply connected — captured in the company's tagline, "Move Better, Feel Better, Think Better." With over 12 years of experience serving youth and adults, Dr. Mason earned his Bachelor of Science in Child and Adolescent Studies and Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Bowie State University, where he also now serves as an adjunct professor, mentoring students and supporting aspiring entrepreneurs. He is licensed as a Clinical Professional Counselor in Maryland and as a Professional Counselor in Washington, D.C. and Virginia, and holds Board-Approved Supervisor status in Maryland.
Clinically, Dr. Mason takes a client-centered approach that integrates Adlerian theory with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and he is especially committed to serving Black men, whose mental health needs he and his clinical team work to address through individual therapy, workshops, and professional development programming. Beyond direct practice, he consults with school districts and nonprofit organizations, bringing his doctoral studies in Educational Leadership and Management at Drexel University to bear on systems-level work in education and community mental health. Under his leadership, Minds In Motion has grown into a multidisciplinary practice offering therapeutic services for men, women, and children, alongside speaking engagements, school programming, and clinical supervision for emerging counselors.
Dr. Mason has also built a public platform around mental health advocacy, most notably as a TEDx Editor's Choice speaker recognized for his talk on bringing greater diversity into the mental health field. He uses social media actively to destigmatize therapy and promote mental wellness, extending his reach well beyond the clinical setting. Between his clinical leadership, academic role, consulting work, and public speaking, Dr. Mason has positioned himself as a prominent voice for equitable, culturally affirming mental health care — particularly for underserved communities and Black men — while cultivating the next generation of clinicians through his teaching and supervisory work.
