Kim earned her BSN in 1986 from Howard University. She started her career at Children’s National immediately after nursing school, first as a PCT & then as a Registered Nurse working on an inpatient medical unit which primarily cared for Infants & toddlers. It was there, and on its ancillary isolation unit, where she met the patient population who would be the focus of her life’s work. In 1992, she transferred to Special Immunology, renamed HIV Prevention & Treatment Services and recently accepted a position as their Clinical Coordinator. She is a member of the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care & has maintained dual nursing certification as an Aids Certified Registered Nurse since December of 2008 and a Certified Pediatric Nurse since June of 2013.
