Judy L. Dawson‑Jones became the Executive Director of Pediatric Nursing at Sidra Medicine on November 10, 2017, later accepting the role of Chief Nursing Officer in 2020. With more than thirty years of leadership and clinical experience across outpatient, inpatient, and ambulatory settings, she has served in four major pediatric hospitals in the United States and has practiced in women’s health, pediatrics, and adult medical‑surgical care.

Throughout her career, Ms. Dawson‑Jones has demonstrated a proven ability to unite multidisciplinary leaders and managers around a shared vision of excellence. She is deeply committed to evidence‑based practice, ensuring that staff nurses remain engaged in delivering the highest quality of care to every patient.

During her tenure at Sidra Medicine, Judy led a highly diverse workforce representing more than 60 nationalities. Under her leadership, the organization embarked on the Pathway to Excellence journey, ultimately achieving Pathway to Excellence with Distinction — a milestone that reflects her dedication to cultivating supportive, empowered nursing environments. And the organization is only eight years old.

Much of Judy’s professional life has been rooted in ambulatory care, where she continues to advocate for advancing and elevating the nurse’s role in outpatient settings. She served on the American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing (AAACN) Board from 2005 to 2011, contributed as a chapter author to the Care Coordination and Transition Management Competency Book, and currently serves on the AAACN Emeritus Board. Judy also expanded the global reach of ambulatory nursing by bringing the Ambulatory Care Nursing certification to Doha, marking its first international presence. She also established the inaugural partnership with Children’s National Medical Center’s Nursing Branch.

Ms. Dawson‑Jones earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia, and her Master of Public Health (MPH) from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
