Heidi Schumacher

Heidi Schumacher, MD FAAP is a general pediatrician and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine. In that role, she serves as faculty with the Vermont Child Health Improvement Program, where she leads projects that emphasize partnerships between health care and schools. She serves as Principal Investigator of the Every Day Counts project, which leverages cross-sector partnerships in communities across Vermont to improve school attendance and youth wellbeing. Previously, she served in public education leadership roles at the state and local level in Washington DC, where she oversaw health and wellness policy and programming in public schools across DC. She is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics Council on School Health and an advisory board member of Attendance Works.
