Course Description
This activity provides an overview of Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA), including pathophysiology, acid–base balance, and interpretation of key laboratory values. Participants will review clinical manifestations, potential complications, and best practices for DKA management with emphasis on intravenous fluids, electrolyte replacement, insulin infusion therapy, safe monitoring, and prevention of rapid glucose and fluid shifts. The activity also includes skill development in insulin drip and two‑bag IV fluid management, drawing labs from a peripheral IV, and safely transitioning patients from intravenous to subcutaneous insulin therapy.

- Analyze patient case scenarios to identify gaps in treatment, prioritize interventions, and adjust care based on clinical data
