Sarah Vittone, DBe, MSN, MA, RN, HEC-C

Sarah B. Vittone, DBe, MSN, MA, RN, HEC-C, is an Associate Professor at Georgetown University Berkley School of Nursing, where she serves as Senior Director for Undergraduate Studies and Direct Entry Programs. She received her Doctor of Bioethics from Loyola University Chicago, is faculty with the Pellegrino Center for Clinical Bioethics at Georgetown and serves as clinical bioethicist at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital. Dr. Vittone’s work centers on surrogate decision-making, refusal's of indicated treatment influence on beneficence and dignity, decisional paralysis, and ethical issues affecting moral distress. She teaches ethics and professional formation across undergraduate and graduate programs and supports research ethics initiatives.
