Kayla Tabari, RN, MBE, HEC-C
Kayla Tabari RN, MBE, HEC-C is a Clinical Ethicist and the Fellowship Supervisor at Providence Center for Health Care Ethics. In this role, Kayla provides ethics consultation across acute, ambulatory, and community care settings and guides the education and professional formation of clinical ethics fellows. She began her career as a labor and delivery nurse with a specialization in perinatal palliative care, which helps her to bring a bedside-informed approach to ethics consultation and program development.
Kayla completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at the University of San Francisco, her Master of Bioethics at Harvard University, and is a PhD student at Duquesne University. Her research interests are focused on life's most powerful transitions, particularly childbirth and end-of-life care. She has published in leading journals in bioethics, nursing, and medicine and regularly presents at national and international conferences.
In addition to her clinical work, Kayla is actively engaged in organizational ethics, serving in ethics leadership roles across a large integrated health system. Her work includes policy development, ethics education for clinical leaders and trainees, and support for values-based decision-making during complex organizational challenges. She also serves on an Institutional Review Board and was a writing panel member for the 2025 American Nurses Association Code of Ethics revision.
