Dr. Laura B. Webster (she/they) serves the Northwest Region Vice President of Ethics at CommonSpirit and provides ethics support from the bedside to the boardroom. Laura studied at Loyola University Chicago and the University of Washington (UW), earning a Doctorate and Masters degrees in bioethics after completing a BSN.  Laura continues at UW as Affiliate Faculty in the School of Medicine Department of Bioethics and Humanities, is a board member at the American Society of Bioethics and Humanities and the Ethics Advisory Board in the ANA Center for Ethics and Human Rights, an author of the 3rd Edition of the Core Competencies for Healthcare Ethics Consultants, and was an expert panel member for the ANA 2025 Code of Ethics ReVision.  Laura volunteers monthly as a registered nurse in a local free primary care clinic and annually on a week long mission trip.
