Susan Kressly, MD, FAAP
Dr. Sue Kressly is a general pediatrician and clinical informaticist whose clinical career includes founding and growing an independent practice in Pennsylvania. Dr. Kressly has been at the forefront of innovation, advocating for pediatric functionality in Health IT. Her expertise includes Quality Improvement, Healthcare Financing and Payment, Practice Management and Optimization of Clinical Workflows.
Dr. Kressly has served key leadership roles at the American Academy of Pediatrics with focuses on practice transformation, payer advocacy, pediatric health IT, and quality care. She currently serves as President-elect for the Academy and assumes the Presidency role in January of 2025. In addition, she is co-author of two AAP Policy Statements: Nonemergency Acute Care: When It’s Not the Medical Home, and Guiding Principles for Team-Based Pediatric Care.
Sue believes that all children deserve access to a well-coordinated patient-centered medical home which maximizes the use of Health IT, and all pediatricians deserve the resources and support to transform their practices to meet their patient’s needs in a constantly changing healthcare environment. Dr. Kressly understands that every pediatrician is a child health expert, an advocate and a healer and champions the voices of children and pediatricians wherever she goes.
