Margaret Finke, BSN, RN, NE-BC

Maggie Finke has proudly served Children’s National for 26 years, building her career in the 7 East Medical Care Unit, where she has held the role of Nurse Manager since 2014. In this position, she provides 24/7 leadership and oversight of clinical operations for a 50-bed pediatric medical unit, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, and patient-centered care.
Maggie co-leads a team of approximately 160 employees and oversees a broad range of operational and human resource functions, including staffing, scheduling, payroll, performance management, and compliance with organizational policies and collective bargaining agreements. She plays a key role in staff development, onboarding, and education, while also leading investigations of safety events and implementing strategies to improve clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
A highly collaborative leader, Maggie fosters strong partnerships across interdisciplinary teams and actively contributes to key hospital initiatives. She serves as a Leadership Advisor for the Recognition and Engagement System SNL Council, is an active member of the Behavioral Event Safety Taskforce (BEST), a Kronos subject matter expert, and a participant in SEIU negotiations. Maggie is also trained in Lean methodology and applies continuous improvement principles to enhance unit performance, patient care, and team engagement.
