Kathleen Atmore, Postdoctoral training - Pediatric Neuropsychology & Developmental Disabilities; Doctorate - Clinical Psychology; Masters - Counseling Psychology
Dr. Kathleen Atmore is a Developmental Neuropsychologist and Autism Specialist with over 30 years of experience working with children and families affected by learning and developmental disabilities and associated mental health concerns. She has been on staff at Children's National since 2004. Dr. Atmore has a special interest in meeting the needs of underserved populations and of serving children and families affected by autism in the medical setting and in July 2016, along with Eileen Walters, RN, she launched the Autism Behavioral Communication support service. This service provides support for patients whose communication and behavioral challenges have limited their access to health care services.
Prior to joining the staff at Children's, she worked in an out-patient neuropsychology evaluation practice in Silver Spring Maryland and completed diagnostic evaluations with the Kennedy Krieger Therapeutic Foster Care Evaluation Program in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Atmore completed her internship and fellowship training at Boston Children's Hospital - Harvard Medical School and was on staff and faculty there prior to moving to Washington DC in 1994. She is the parent of four adult children.
