Stacey Stokes, MD MPH
Dr. Stacey Stokes is a pediatric hospitalist at Children’s National Hospital and an assistant professor of Pediatrics at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She has been a practicing hospitalist for 13 years, with a long history of global health work. As a medical student at the University of Pittsburgh Dr. Stokes received training for one month in both South Africa and Guyana, and in residency at Children’s National completed her REACH research project on a telemedicine implementation program in Kerala, India. Since residency Dr. Stokes has participated in Operation Smile and spent several years intermittently volunteering in Port au Prince, Haiti through Project Medishare. Since returning to Children’s National in 2018 her attention has shifted from international clinical work to global health and immigrant health education at Children’s National. From 2019-2024 she ran the Global Child Health Course, and has co-led the Global Health Residency Pathway programming alongside Dr. Kathy Ferrer since 2021. Dr. Stokes is board certified in Pediatrics and Clinical Informatics.
