Muhammed Ikbal Aydin was born in Turkey and was received training in Istanbul and Berlin. After finishing his medical training, he completed his cardiac surgery training at the Leipzig Heart Center. During the training, he completed one year of surgical fellowship in Glasgow, Scotland at Golden Jubilee National Hospital. Dr. Aydin has worked as an attending surgeon in adult and congenital heart surgery at Leipzig Hear Center since 2022. He is a member of the European Board of Cardiothoracic Surgery. Currently, he works as a post-doctoral research fellow at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C. His research interests include single ventricle, valve repair, and outcomes in congenital cardiac surgery.
