Dr. Annie Andrews is a board-certified pediatrician and pediatric hospital medicine physician, a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at George Washington University, and a pediatric hospitalist at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC.
Dr. Andrews earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Dayton and her Medical Degree from the University of Cincinnati. She completed her pediatrics residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. She later earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Research from the Medical University of South Carolina, where she completed an Academic Generalist Fellowship.
Dr. Andrews is an accomplished clinical researcher with more than 60 peer-reviewed publications, primarily focused on preventive care for children with asthma and the sequelae of non-fatal firearm injuries in children. She is a previous recipient of an NIH KL2 Research Grant and an AHRQ R03 Research Grant.
She was the founder and director of the Advocacy Curriculum for pediatric residents at the Medical University of South Carolina where she was also the director of the Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship program. She recently served as Senior Advisor at Everytown for Gun Safety.
She is a frequent invited speaker at medical schools across the country on topics related to physician advocacy and gun violence prevention.
