Dr. Anik Patel is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Emergency
Medicine and Associate Program Director for Global Health at Children’s Mercy Hospital,
Kansas City. He serves on the national executive committee for the AAP Council on Immigrant
Child and Family Health, the AAP Global Pediatric Emergency Care initiative, the APPD Global
Health Learning Community, and is vice-chair of the AAP Humanitarian Pediatrics
Subcommittee. With extensive clinical experience in refugee camps and hospitals across Africa,
Asia, Latin America, and the U.S., he focuses on capacity building, education in resource-limited
settings, and improving care for migrant and refugee populations.
